Whether your child is just picking up a racquet or already competing in varsity matches, our year-round youth tennis programs offer something for every age and skill level. Led by Director Courtney Gilman and Certified Tennis Pro Mandy Priore, our clinics, private lessons, and competitive options help young players grow their confidence, sharpen their skills, and fall in love with the game. Open to Club Members and Non-Members alike.

Meet The Pros:

Courtney Gilman, Racquet Sports Director
Courtney Gilman brings more than 30 years of tennis coaching experience to The Shrewsbury Club. He played three years of varsity tennis at Eckerd College and has spent much of his career teaching and directing tennis programs throughout New England. His experience includes serving as Director of Tennis at Waltham Athletic Club, coaching teams that advanced to USTA National Championships, and working with adult and junior players of all ages and abilities. Courtney is USPTA certified and previously served as USTA New England Head Verifier and Appeals Chair.
Courtney also brings collegiate coaching experience, including serving as head coach of the Bentley University men’s tennis team, where he was named NE10 Conference Coach of the Year in his first season after leading the team to the playoffs.
His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, smart tactics, focus, and making tennis enjoyable. At The Shrewsbury Club, Courtney leads racquet sports programming and works with players across a wide range of ages, skill levels, and goals.

Mandy Priore, Junior Tennis Manager
Mandy has over 20 years of tennis teaching experience with youth of all ages. During group clinics and private instruction, she motivates players by incorporating drill games that make learning basic tennis skills fun and memorable. Students receive positive feedback and helpful strategies to improve all areas of their game, whether it be fundamentals or improvement in match play. Mandy strives to make all players under her tutelage extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the game not just serves, groundstrokes, volleys, and more, but sportsmanship too!
As a former high school coach of both boys’ and girls’ teams for many years, Mandy sought to grow and develop her players as competitive contenders in a local high school league. One of her boys’ teams in Whitinsville, Massachusetts won the league championship in 2013 and eventually won a state title. Mandy was also a collegiate-level tennis player at Calvin University in Michigan. She was awarded All-MIAA honors in 1999 for both #1 singles and #1 doubles play at Calvin.

Tom Dineen, Tennis & Pickleball Pro
A certified tennis and pickleball instructor, Tom is passionate about teaching both adults and kids and has been teaching for over 10 years. Tom makes tennis FUN for all age groups, especially for kids, by keeping them engaged with a variety of brief, but interesting and fun activities designed to build their skills.
Tom has been responsible for building the pickleball program at the Shrewsbury club since 2020. He has developed clinics for beginner, intermediate and advanced players who have gone on to participate in pickleball tournaments all over the area.
Tom is a firm believer in teaching the fundamentals of tennis and pickle ball to help his students reach their goals. He also provides private lessons and administers open play for pickleball enthusiasts.
