Our Junior Tennis Programs goal is to promote a love of tennis. We aim to develop a foundation built on technical and tactical skills while creating a supportive, fun, and enjoyable environment.
We have programs for ages 3 – 18 and all levels of skill.

Pay by Monthley EFT (Lowest Rate!)
Monthly payments are for members who are planning to commit to the entire 39 week tennis season (typically from Sep-June). By committing to the full season, the payments are broken down monthly into equal payments for the duration of your tennis lessons. EFT is always the lowest rate! Red Ball Tennis (Ages 4-8)
Beginner Red is designed for first time players. This class focuses on building physical skills (agility, balance, coordination and speed) while teaching tennis fundamentals.

Orange Ball Tennis (Ages 8-12)

Beginner Orange focuses on building the athletic skills required by the sport while also teaching the fundamentals necessary to compete using a rally/game-based curriculum. The coaching is focused on developing, sound footwork and technique.

Green Ball Tennis (Ages 12-15)
Green Ball builds off of Orange Ball where Players learn how to properly position themselves. To execute ground strokes and volleys, hit with purpose, serve and ultimately sustain a rally of varying speed and duration.

Competitive Classes
Competitive classes are exclusive to those who try out and or qualify. Competitive classes focus on intense drills, on court fitness, and match play to develop students into tournament players and tennis team players.
Competitive Green Ball (Instructor approval)

Players who have completed Green Ball fundamentals. Specifically, each players learns to develop areas of strength in their game and learn to play more strategically. Players in Comp Green compete in tournaments, team tennis and interscholastic competition.

Jr. Varsity Tennis
This instructional class continues to train the player on strokes and technique, but also places them into live points, drills, games, and matches designed to move them into team match play.

Varsity Tennis

Varsity is dedicated to providing an opportunity for High School players to progress their skills in a fun and competitive environment. Players who participate in this program must have prior experience. Stroke development, footwork, doubles and singles strategies will all be covered during the course of the session.

Group Junior Tennis Programming Policies
All clinics require a minimum of 3 participants to run. If there is not sufficient enrollment, semi-private lessons or private lessons are available.
Makeup Policy (By Session): The Shrewsbury Club has a no-makeup policy with the following exceptions:
- Classes canceled by The Club due to weather or inability to operate
- Instructor illness
For clients paying by the session, there will be no makeups for classes missed because of a conflicting schedule or illness. A session with less than 13 classes on a given day of the week, due to scheduled holiday off will be run the week after the session ends.
Makeup Policy (EFT): Depending on the level of EFT payment you have chosen, you are entitle to a set number of makeup classes during the season. For one clinic a week EFT, you will receive 2 makeups per season. All makeups will be scheduled the week after a session ends.
