Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Shrewsbury Club Membership

We offer 6- and 12-month membership contracts for individuals, parent-child duos or couples, and families, and discounted plans for seniors (62+ years old), and senior couples. We also offer a 30-day no-contract, auto-expiration option for young adults (15-23 years old) and a summer membership for adults and families that runs Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Appointments are recommended, especially on weekends. Tours are generally available Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM and Saturday approximately 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. Tours are not normally available on Sundays.

Walk-ins are welcome, but a Membership Team member may not always be available outside normal tour hours. Scheduling ahead is the best way to ensure a Membership Team member is available to show you the Club and answer your questions.

The costs of our standard and senior discount plans include an enrollment fee, monthly dues, and a yearly enhancement fee. All dues and fees are due on the 7th of every month and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Your membership does not expire as long as you maintain your monthly dues and pay the annual enhancement fee. The yearly enhancement fee is payable each February.

Member pricing is available when the participant is covered by an eligible Club membership. Depending on the person and household, this may include an Individual, Family, Parent-Child, Youth, or other qualifying membership option.

In addition to special promotions and discounted memberships for senior individuals and senior couples, we offer a discount program for Junior Athletes (14 years old and under). The Junior Athlete pass requires a minimum 6-month commitment and entitles holders to member pricing on all programming and camps, a 10% sibling or multi-program discount, and use of Kidz Club childcare or outdoor pool for an additional fee. (Note this isn’t a membership.)

Under the 10% sibling or multi-program discount when siblings enroll or one child enrolls in multiple sports, you pay full price for the first class registration and then receive a 10% discount for any additional registrations for your children.

Men’s and women’s sauna, group fitness classes, and childcare at Kidz Club. Up to 2 hours of complimentary childcare per day is available with Parent & Child, and Family memberships. Childcare service is available to other membership types and non-members for a low cost of $20.00 for up to 2 hours of childcare per child per visit at Kidz Club. Explore all Club facilities.

We offer prospective members a free trial workout or class to check out our club. You may attend one of our group exercise classes or, subject to availability, one of our sports programming classes or clinics.

You must be 15 years old or older to use the fitness floor and The Forge free weights zone independently (15 year-olds must obtain a tier 2 Fitness Certification from the Fitness Director to use the Forge). Youth ages 13-14 must first complete a Junior Fitness Certification with the Fitness Director and may then use the main-level fitness floor only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must remain in sight while their child is working out; this certification does not provide access to The Forge. The Club may also offer group fitness and strength-training classes for younger athletes; this may be a convenient option for parents unable to accompany their children to the gym. For youth, we offer recreation and competitive classes and clinics in tennis, baseball, gymnastics, martial arts, soccer, basketball, as well as seasonal youth summer aquatics classes. The Club may also offer group youth fitness and strength-training classes for younger athletes. We also offer camp options for your children year-round. For adults, we offer classes, clinics, and socials in fitness, tennis, pickleball, martial arts, and seasonal adult summer aquatics classes. Visit our Adult Menu page for a full list of current offerings.

We also offer tennis, pickleball, and racquetball court time rentals, tennis and racquetball leagues, and batting cage rentals.

We offer daily instruction in rotation of yoga, Pilates, Zumba, muscle mix, and strength interval classes. Classes are included with all full club memberships. The Shrewsbury Club offers personal training to both members and non-members. Training options include 1-on-1 and 1-on-2 partner training.

Our club includes a multizone fitness center with free weights, kettlebells, circuit machines, cardio equipment, group exercise studios, and multi-sport athletic facilities (which include indoor tennis courts and a large indoor turf field). Explore our facilities and take a quick video tour.

Reservations are not required, but strongly encouraged. Reservations can be made up to 6 days in advance. Members can book online by logging into their accounts and selecting “Childcare” from the left-hand menu, or you can call the Kidz Club at (774) 214-3030.
Reservations start on the hour, half, or quarter hour with a 2-hour maximum visit per day. Children must be picked up at the 2-hour time limit. All cancellations must be done 2 hours before your scheduled time. Please cancel your reservation online or call the Kidz Club at (774) 214-3030.

The Kidz Club Class Pass is a service for children who are enrolled in a class at the Club. Kidz Club staff can bring your child to and from their class while you remain in the Club.
To use the service, check your child into Kidz Club and let the staff know you would like to use the Class Pass. Your child must be picked up from Kidz Club after class, not directly from the class. There is no additional charge for the Class Pass once your child is checked into Kidz Club.

Members may bring up to 4 guests at a time. Each guest is limited to five visits every 12 months. Guests are required to complete our guest register and present a valid ID. Guests must be accompanied by their sponsoring member and are subject to the same rules and regulations as club members. Guest Fees cost $20 per day, and $50 for the Daily Family Pool Pass.

Yes, you may. Tennis court fees are split among the players on the court. Non-members also pay a $20 guest fee per person.

Yes. Late registration is allowed for Club programs when space is still available. The registration fee will be prorated based on the remaining sessions.

If you’re interested in joining a program that has already started, contact us to check availability.

Visa, MC, Discover, Am Exp, Bank or Checking account. Payments for membership dues and fees are made by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This is a continuous monthly payment plan. By signing your membership agreement, you authorize The Shrewsbury Club to automatically debit your chosen payment method on the 7th of each month until all payments are complete. If payment cannot be collected, your method may be double-billed the following month. All EFT payments are non-refundable.

The annual enhancement fee is $50 and is automatically billed every February; all or a portion of this fee may be due upon joining the club. This fee assists us with club enhancements and upkeep.

This option is available with our 6- & 12-month contracts. You may upgrade your membership type at any point during your membership at The Shrewsbury Club. At the date of the upgrade, you pay the prorated amount of the upgrade for the current month and then your billing automatically changes the next month to the new membership rate. Upgrades do not affect your contract start date.

We allow “children” to be on a Family Plan until they are 22 years old.

You may request a downgrade to any membership type with a lower cost (and for fewer individuals) after completing 3 months at your current type.

Note: All requests to freeze, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel memberships must be submitted in writing by the 20th of the month before the desired effective date. You may submit requests via email to Membership@ShrewsburyClub.com or by registered mail to 3 Tennis Drive, Shrewsbury MA 01545.

A freeze option is available with our 6- and 12-month contracts. You may request to put your membership on freeze/pause for a period of 1 month up to 3 months at a time, there is a $25 per month freeze fee instead of paying your full membership dues. This allows you the freedom to stop & start your contract as needed. We also offer medical freezes at no charge for up to 6 months at a time with a note from your doctor.

To cancel your Shrewsbury Club membership, you must provide written notice by the 20th of the month before the desired effective date in one of the following ways:

2) Send an e-mail request to: Membership@ShrewsburyClub.com

** Cancellation is complete once you receive an email confirmation from the Shrewsbury Club’s member system. (Please do not assume cancellation is complete until you have received an email confirmation.)

** Enrollment & Enhancement Fees are non-refundable.

** Holders of paid-in-full memberships that wish to cancel within the term of their original agreement are not guaranteed a refund for the unused months.

Early Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your membership before completing your initial 6- or 12-month agreement, your membership will be retroactively adjusted to the month-to-month rate for all active months, and this price differential will be billed on your final invoice.
