Whether you’re beginning martial arts for the first time or continuing advanced training, The Shrewsbury Club offers year-round instruction for adults of all experience levels.

Led by Martial Arts Director and 6th Degree Black Belt Sarah Corey, our group classes, private lessons, and skill evaluations help adults improve fitness, confidence, self-discipline, and focus in a supportive community. Club Members and Non-Members are welcome.

Meet Our Martial Arts Instructors:

Sarah Corey, Martial Arts Director

Sarah Corey (“SaBuNim”) has been training in martial arts since 1993 and currently holds the rank of Godan (5th degree black belt) in the TAMA system of self defense and Yodan (4th degree black belt) in American Combat Karate. Sarah completed her certification in 2002, becoming an internationally certified RAD Kids instructor.

Sarah is also certified to teach RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) for women, both basic self defense, advanced self defense and Keychain self defense as well as RAD Seniors (Resisting Aggression Defensively). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management (2006) as well as an associate’s degree in Child Development (2008)

Sarah also used her knowledge of child development to create her own curriculum for infants/toddlers ages 14 months. She has also gotten requests from parents to work with children with developmental disabilities and has welcomed them with open arms into the world of martial arts training.

Seminars

Ladies’ Self Defense Seminar (Ages 16+)
Join us for a fun and informational Self-Defense Seminar! This class is designed to teach Ladies important skills for staying safe, including how to handle tricky situations, use body awareness, and practice basic self-defense techniques. Our experienced instructors will guide you through easy-to-learn moves, all while promoting confidence, risk awareness, and risk avoidance. It’s a great opportunity for ladies to build strength and resilience in a safe and supportive environment.

Ages 16-17 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Open to Members and Non-Members alike.
