Our tennis programs offer both recreational and competitive opportunities for our members and their guests to improve their tennis game. The Shrewsbury Club’s philosophy towards coaching is to actively engage each student, teach fundamentals of stroke production and make playing tennis and enjoyable and reward experience.
All our staff are USPTA or USPTR certified with many years of tennis coaching experience. Camps, clinics, leagues, competitive ladders and private lessons are available for all ages and levels of interest and ability.
We offer a wide variety of well attended adult programming; including clinics, tournaments, lessons and tennis socials.

The goal for our junior clinics is to promote the love of tennis. We aim to develop a foundation and build on that by focusing on technical and tactical skills. We have programs for all ages and levels with a wide range of focus points.
Here are The Shrewsbury Club, we have a variety of different tennis programs for adults. From the very beginner to those more advanced looking for some competitive play, we have what you’re looking for!
Our tennis pros offer private and semi-private lessons, scheduled at your convenience to fit your schedule. Choose from 30 minute or 60 minute sessions.
Vik is a PTR-Certified Professional in all age groups: 10 and Under, 11 – 17, and Adult Development. He also holds an Instructor rating in Performance Tennis. (11 – 17) He is from the South County area in Rhode Island.
Vik has been playing tennis for 30 years and teaching for 18. During his coaching career he’s helped coach his former high school in Rhode Island to D1 State Championships and has collegiate coaching experience.
He is very competitive and finds what it takes to motivate the youth and adults alike to be better players and people. He understands each person is unique and has their own learning style and will help figure it out with parents.
In his personal life, he was born in New Jersey and grew up in both Rochester, New York and Chelmsford, Massachusetts. He went to both Georgia Tech and URI. He is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan as well as the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Buffalo Sabres.
